WHY BOONTHAM
An Education That Fits the Way Adults Learn
Our courses are built around the reality that adults over 40 bring experience, discernment, and a preference for substance over speed. That is the kind of learner we design for.

Six Reasons Adults Choose Boontham
Thai Market Relevance
All instruments, data, and examples are drawn from Thailand's actual bond market. Participants work with ThaiBMA listings, BOT data, and Thai regulatory documents — not generic international textbooks.
Deliberate Pacing
Each session is designed with adequate time for questions and consolidation. We do not move to the next concept until participants have had the opportunity to absorb the current one.
Practitioner Instruction
Our instructors have backgrounds in Thai fixed income markets — not academic theory alone. They bring current, hands-on perspective to every session.
Small Group Environment
Sessions are kept small so every participant can engage, ask questions freely, and receive the instructor's attention. This is not a lecture hall experience.
Tangible Reference Tools
Every course includes reference cards, worksheets, and checklists that participants keep and can refer to long after the course has ended. These are not disposable handouts.
Post-Course Material Access
Course materials remain available to enrolled participants after completion. When a concept becomes relevant again — as it often does — the resource is still there.
EXPERTISE BENEFIT
Instruction With Real Market Background
The knowledge gap between a practitioner and a textbook author is significant. Our instructors have analysed actual Thai bond issuances, sat in credit committee discussions, and managed fixed income allocations within Thai institutions. That background shapes how they explain concepts — with grounding in what actually happens in the market, not what a model predicts.
- Combined instructor experience of more than 35 years in Thai fixed income markets
- Current awareness of BOT policy, ThaiBMA rule changes, and credit rating developments
- Regular use of real issuance documents and bond prospectuses as teaching material
"Experience teaches the things that textbooks can only describe."
Our instructors do not simply present concepts — they contextualise them against market events, yield environment shifts, and the behaviour of actual Thai issuers over the years they have worked in the field.
Tools We Use in Teaching
Participants learn to read and interpret data from the Thai Bond Market Association's public portal, including yield curves and trading volumes.
Rather than fabricated examples, we use real Thai bond offering documents to teach participants how to read and evaluate them.
Yield calculations and duration exercises are taught using structured spreadsheet templates participants keep after the course.
METHODOLOGY BENEFIT
Teaching With Actual Market Tools
We use the same data sources and documents that participants will encounter if they choose to apply what they learn. Working with real materials during the course means there is no adjustment period when the course ends — the knowledge and the tools transfer together.
- Hands-on exercises using publicly available Thai bond data
- Yield calculations taught with instruments participants can actually access
- Credit evaluation using TRIS Rating and Fitch Thailand reports
SERVICE BENEFIT
A Considerate Learning Environment
Adults over 40 are often managing demanding schedules alongside study. We factor this into how we structure and deliver our courses. Sessions are scheduled with advance notice, materials are provided early, and the instructor is reachable for follow-up questions between live meetings.
- Scheduling confirmed at enrolment to suit participant availability
- Questions answered within two working days between sessions
- Reasonable adjustments discussed openly at any stage of the course

RESULTS BENEFIT
What Participants Leave With
By the end of each course, participants have worked through real examples, practised their skills on structured exercises, and built a reference library they can draw on when the course ends. The aim is durable comprehension — not a short-term familiarity that fades quickly.
- Ability to read and interpret Thai bond offering documents independently
- Understanding of yield calculation methods applied to Thai instruments
- Practical reference tools retained and usable after course completion
- Confidence to evaluate credit quality and compare yield across bond types
After Three Courses
Participants who complete all three courses have covered the full breadth of Thai fixed income investing — from foundational concepts through credit analysis to portfolio construction. They have also completed a capstone project presenting a draft portfolio for instructor and peer review.

WHAT ONLY BOONTHAM OFFERS
Distinctive Features of Our Programmes
ThaiBMA-Anchored Curriculum
Our curriculum is constructed around the Thai Bond Market Association's actual data and instrument classifications — not adapted from foreign sources. This is the only fixed income course programme in Bangkok built entirely from the Thai market outward.
Portfolio Capstone Review
Course 3 includes a capstone project where participants present a draft fixed income portfolio for instructor and peer review. This is not a written test — it is a realistic exercise in applying what has been learned.
Adult-Centred Design
Each course is designed specifically for adults over 40 — taking into account how adults learn, what motivates them, and how to respect the time constraints and life experience they bring to the classroom.
Credit Research Resource Collection
Participants in Course 3 are provided access to a curated collection of bond research resources — including sources for Thai corporate credit data, issuer filings, and BOT publications that support ongoing independent analysis.
